Lindy Focus
We began this event in 2002 with our friend Sosh Howell. What began as a small regional workshop has grown into an international dance camp. Lindy Focus 8 brought in over 600 dancers from across the globe, and featured workshops, performances, competitions, and tons of social dancing to great live and dj’d music. We’ve come to call it a “Jazz Dance Camp”, an inclusive term that refers to the variety of dances our community celebrates including (but not limited to) Lindy Hop, Balboa, Vernacular/Authentic Jazz, Blues/Slow Dancing, Charleston, and a variety of other vintage American dance forms. The camp lasts about a week, (usually December 27th-31st) culminating in a gigantic New Year’s Party and dance show. www.lindyfocus.com

Southern Belle Swing Bash
We began this event in 2005 with our friend Gina Helfrich. Similar in concept to “Girl Jam” events, Southern Belle is an event focused particularly on the follower/woman’s role in the dance. Workshops include such topics as Solo Charleston/Jazz Repertoire, Lindy Hop Styling, and core technique. We’ve been privileged to have many of the top names in Lindy Hop headline this event, and momentum keeps growing each year. To get leaders to attend class, we give them the weekend for free, making sure they realize that they’re going to be learning a lot also. This had led to pretty good lead/follow ratios for this type of event, and we’re pretty proud of what Southern Belle has grown into! www.southernbelleswing.com
